Ricky Gervais strikes back!

Earlier this week, we told you about the backlash in the UK, where his countrymen are claiming that the creator amd star of The Office and Extras has turned into the same insuffereable celeb-sucking, wanking fame whore he played in the shows.

HBO also says its negotiating a Ricky Gervais stand-up comedy special for next season--which could be a lot less satisfying, in light of the brickbats Ricky's received over two recent high-profile standup appearances. They were apparently so cringe-inspiring that his fellow Brits are claiming their wonder by has "lost it"!

'Little Fat Man' returns with 'Extras'

Ricky Gervais returns to HBO on Sunday night with the second season of Extras. The series picks up where the first season ended, with his character Andy Millman selling a sitcom to the BBC. But unlike Gervais' experience with The Office, Andy loses control of When The Whistle Blows. Funny? Check out the above clip, featuring David Bowie. Orlando Bloom guest stars Sunday. Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe and Diana Rigg also show up in the six-episode run.

Six episodes? What about a third season?
