Game show champs meet in Grand Slam

Sixteen game show winners, including Jeopardy champion Ken Jennings, will gather for an all-star competition series, vying for the Dr. Evil-ish grand prize of one hundred thousand dollars.

Grand Slam will premiere August 7th on the Game Show Network and run for eight episodes. The questions will test general knowledge, math and logic skills, verbal dexterity and knowledge of current events.

The series is produced by Michael Davies of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? and features Millionaire winners Kevin Olmstead and John Carpenter as well as Brad Rutter, the $3.2 million Jeopardy winner.

On a sad note, the show will be hosted by Dennis Miller, the scripted comedian who saw a career opportunity in turning into rabid conservative after 9/11 and now shows up reading scripted commentary on the Fox News Channel. The man who once saw himself as a successor to Mort Sahl and shills for Rudolph Giuliani is now in his rightful place as a game show host.

On a happier note, Miller will have a co-host: Amanda Byram, the Irish gal with the mole who hosted The Swan.
