GSN lets you hang Saddam before the Iraqis do

Hey, Saddam Hussein may be hanged any day now! Everybody hates him, right? So let's have some fun with it! Let's play Saddam Hussein's Hangman!!

That seems to be the reasoning over at the Game Show Network, which has gotten some good ink with its TV documentaries on the likes of Chuckie Baby Barris and The Match Game, but is screaming a little too hard for attention over on its webside.

"Topical games" are the order of the day at GSN, but with word that the Iraq's former dicatator may be swinging from the gallows as early as tomorrow, the newly-launched Saddam game-- "No noose is good noose! A traditional game with a sick twist... you actually want to hang the man"-- may have a short shelf life.

Hey, they called it "sick," not us. The free Saddam game (no, they don't went to free Saddam--you can play for free) features an animated condemned ex-tyrant, firing back phrases like "Americans can't spell!" and "I laugh at your letters!" as letters are plugged in to guess words and phrases.

GSN started its gaming ploy over the summer, with an animated online game making fun of another hated man of the time, Mel Gibson. They've continued to play it safe, with Mark Foley and Kim Jong-Il games, and earlier this month the target was even more obvious, with Throw The Book At OJ.

But c'mon. Saddam? OJ? Mel Gibson? We can come up with a few game ideas that might be a little more controversial (Trump or Rosie anyone?). It's a slow week. How about you?
