Gay or Not Gay?

Paul%20Lynde.jpgThe programming execs at the Lifetime network must be women who've spent too much time on the Hollywood dating scene. They've just announced a new game show called Gay, Straight or Taken?

The show is produced by the folks at Endemol USA, currently riding high with Deal or No Deal. But don't expect 26 identically-dressed standing on risers, opening their flies. On this one, a female contestant will be sent on dates with three men-- one gay, one heterosexual and one "taken" (married or in a relationship, and presumably straight-- we wouldn't want her head to explode). Then she has to pick the straight, single man. If she's correct, she wins a grand prize for two. If she's wrong, the guy she picks wins all. And she still could walk away with a new best friend.

Endemol promises the show "really turns stereotypes on its head." They also say they might mix things up a bit, like having a gay woman try to pick the single available lesbian from a trio of gay, straight and taken femmes.

The series premieres with two half-hour episodes on January 8th-- the birthday of Monty Python's Graham Chapman (gay and dead), Elvis Presley (straight, weird and dead ) and David Bowie (a little bit of everything, and taken).

No word on a host. Suggestions?

Ryan Seacrest would be the perfect host!
