Grey's spinoff gets its own McDreamy

timdaly.jpgThat proposed spinoff of Grey's Anatomy is getting its own Dr. McDreamy in Tim Daly. The former star of Wings and doctor's son (his dad, James Daly, starred on the old CBS Medical Center series) has signed on to guest star in the two-hour episode that could launch a new series starring Grey's own Kate Walsh.

Taye Diggs has already been cast in the "enhanced" (3-D?) Grey's segment. No word if he's got the role of the angry, hair-trigger homophobic doctor who attacks Daly between scenes.

Paul Adelstein (Agent Kellerman from Prison Break) is also signed to guest star. He'll come out as gay and appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show after Diggs and Daly fight it out.

Seriously, though...

Adelstein, Diggs and Daly are all cast in the special episode that will have Walsh's Addison Montgomery-Shepherd character on the verge of leaving Seattle's Grace Hospital. If ABC picks up the new series, she'll continue out the door.

Daly's character has been described as "handsome, sincere, like a McDreamy."
