Heroes, Heroes, Heroes!

Matt Parkman realizes he can use his powers to track a terrorist cell in the above unaired clip from the original 73-minute pilot of NBC's Heroes. The clip's just part of the all-out overboard effort NBC is launching to pump up excitement for their one hit drama-- like hiring every actress producers bump into on the latte line at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to join the cast for the second season-- and the Heroes World Tour, which takes cast members around the world to visit fans and promote the second season some more.

Hayden Panettiere is 18 today

Yes, guys, all you comic book-loving Heroes fans:

Today is the day that Hayden Panettiere, the cheerleader, is "legal".

As if we'd ever have a chance!

Squeeze over! Kristen Bell's joining Heroes

Kristen Bell is joining the crowded cast of NBC's Heroes.

The former star of Veronica Mars will show up amid the mob in October, in a "key multi-episode arc. She'll be playing "Elle," described as "a sexy, mysterious young lady who has ties to the supposed death of Peter, H.R.G.'s past and the future of Claire."

Elle will start by committing a serious crime, though it son't be clear if she's good or bad.

Another hero for Heroes!

How are they going to fit all the heroes on Heroes now that there's yet another hero added to the cast of the already heroes-crowded NBC hit.

The latest hero to join Heroes' second season is actress Jessica Collins. Jessica will play Sophie, a mysterious woman with powers who works at the organization that's tracking all heroes.

Jessica is the Jessica Collins who was a co-star in The Nine the cancelled serial drama that's getting burned off on ABC-- not the Jessica Collins who was on Tru Calling and stars on the new ABC drama Big Shots.

The Heroes gig will reunite Collins with her Nine co-star Dana Davis, who's one of the new Heroes regulars, along with Dania Ramirez and a bunch of others too numerous to mention.

TV critics award their favorites

The TV Critics Association Awards last night wrapped up a week of dog-and-pony-show previews by network suits with an awards cereminy that honored Mary Tyler Moore for career achievement-- and gave consolation prizes to some of those snubbed in the Emmy nominations.

Friday Night Lights, the struggling drama that NBC wants everyone to like, wasn't troubled by an Emmy nom Thursday morning, but the TV critics voted it best new drama.

NBC led the pack with three more big awards...
