After getting ABC's 20/20 to cough up a million dollars to buy Croc Hunter footage in exchange for a tearfully exclusive interview after her husband's untimely death, Terri is bringing the tragic little jungle girl to the States this week for a whirlwind TV and appearance publicity tour.
And it all culminates in the airing of the show Steve Irwin was filming when he was killed by a stingray's barb!
Bindi and mama Terri, who's starting to look more like the Down Under Dina Lohan, are two of the stars of G'Day USA: Australia Week, a 10-day promotion in Los Angeles and New York, highlighting Aussie entertainment, tourism, food, business and fashion--culminating in the showing of Ocean's Deadliest, the doco that killed Steve Irwin.
Here's little Bindi's itinerary:
THURSDAY: Bindi will be in Los Angeles to appear as a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and trade banter with crocodilian Desperate Housewives blonde, Nicollette Sheridan.
SATURDAY: Bindi appears at the Penfold's Icon Gala Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel, along with Aussie Americans like Olivia Newton-John and crocodilian Rupert Murdoch. Russell Crowe will be honoured & a Lifetime Achievement Award will be dedicated (a little late, we'd say) to Steve Irwin.
JAN 14: Bindi and her backup dancers, The Crocmen, appear with The Wiggles, in concert at LA's Ahmanson Theatre.
JAN 17: Bindi is in New York to appear on The Late Show with David Letterman.
JAN 19: Bindi is in Washington, DC, to give a (smiling) speech to the National Press Club.
JAN 20: Back to NYC, for another concert with the Crocmen and The Wiggles at City Centre.
JAN 21: We can all watch Steve Irwin's Ocean's Deadliest documentary special on Discovery and Animal Planet--- that's the one he was filming when, on September 4th, a stingray's serrated barb pierced his heart.
Discovery's senior vice president says Bindi's 26-part series Bindi, The Jungle Girl will premiere on Discovery in the next several months. Back in October, after criticism by an Australian Upper Senator that Bindi might be exploited by ratings-hungry TV producers, Irwin's manager had promised the project would be put on hold for a year.
