Tall, sultry movie star and former Bond girl Famke Janssen is about to become a prime time TV cop. And this time, she'll be playing a female!
Famke, whose best-known TV role was as a transsexual on Nip/Tuck, is set to star in a new NBC series from David Shore, the guy who created House. The show's described as "light drama with procedural elements." It doesn't have a title yet.
The former model takes on the commitment despite a successful movie career in independent flicks and blockbusters like the X-Men. Then again, she's 41. But her move to the small screen raises a more interesting question:
Who among the suits at NBC has a thing for beautiful brunettes poking around murder scenes?
Famke's role as a beautiful brunette law enforcement authority figure places her on the NBC schedule alongside Jill Hennessy at Crossing Jordan and Mariska Hargitay of Law & Order SVU. (Hey, NBC owns Bravo. What's next for Padma Lakshmi?).
