Taking a cue from 60-year-old neighbor Sally Field, the one-time bikini bimbo and sexy funny movie star returns in a multi-generational drama series at ABC. This one is based on the recent nonfiction book, Leap! What Will We Do With the Rest of Our Lives?
Goldie will executive produce along with Marta Kauffman, who wrote and produced Friends. Marta is writing the pilot and will do the real work, while Goldie has agreed to be part of the ensemble cast.
The tentative title for the series isthe more succinct Leap! It will be Goldie's first regular TV gig since Laugh In.
ABC's Entertainment boss Steve McPherson sez:
"What Marta and Goldie did was take the simple premise of the book and put together this really insightful look at how two different generations deal with the big moments we all face in our lives.
"A lot of people try to do these multigenerational thirtysomething-like shows, but they're never about anything. This is about something: What you're going to do with the rest of your life."
Goldie's two kids by Seventies prime time variety star (The Hudson Brothers Show) and king of Saturday morning (The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Hour) Bill Hudson, are also in showbiz. Kate Hudson is a big star and Oliver Hudson is on the CBS sitcom Rules of Engagement.
