Upstairs, Downstairs 90210

maid.jpgThey've followed the celebutards. They've taken us into the Playboy mansion. They've given us plastic surgeons and their clients. Now E! is continuing its "90210" roll with a show about the ones who are usually seen scuttling around the corners of the frame or being treated like dirt: The Help!

High Maintenance 90210 is being sneaked onto the schedule at 11 pm on New Years' Day, which isn't the most auspicious of debut dates. But it does come from Kevin Burns, who's delivered the Playboy romp, The Girls Next Door and who obviously knows how to wring some drama and laughs out of vapidity. Burns says High Maintenance will take us inside "the most expensive Beverly Hills mansions" to follow the domestic staffers as they deal with their "super wealthy and super demanding" bosses.

Didn't we see that Adam Sandler movie? Anyway, don't count on too much of this series carrying Spanish subtitles or taking place at bus stops.

Burns issued a statement in which he said the real focus will be the rich freaks who'll let their lives be upended by the intrusion of camera crews: "The opportunity to examine the lives of the super wealthy from this unique perspective has been everything I could have hoped it to be."
