With the WGA strike in full swing, thought we'd give you some DVD alternatives to add to your netflix/blockbuster queue. Coming to DVD tomorrow are 3 titles worth noting.
The series that launched the dead movie franchise is coming to DVD. The 4 disc collectors set follows the macho hippy, the runaway hottie the black guy (a classic trinity) through their recruitment by the police (read: fuzz) to fight crime. It's a series full of cliches but is forgiven when you realize, shows like the MOD SQUAD established those cliches that are cliches today. You dig? It's worth checkin out and having some hours of watching over the upcoming holiday break. If you don't like the old spy shows, dont bother. . .if you do, grab the pipe and fade away to the MOD SQUAD season 1 dvd available tomorrow.

You can take away our alcohol and jew hating. . . but youll never take away our freedom!!!!!! Who can forget those classic lines made memorable 12 years ago when a then closet drunk and anti-semite still made really good movies. Possibly his greatest, the point where he peaked, was the classic BRAVEHEART. Starting tomorrow, if you dont have the original VHS or two subsequent DVD releases you can get BRAVEHEART SPECIAL COLLECTORS EDITION, this time with less Jew. With all the bonus' on this DVD the asking price of $20 to own is a steal if you can get passed who's getting your money. For me the guys so filthy rich, another $20 won't increase his life any, but it will make my movie collection nearly complete.
Like a fine wine this show has aged. Sure it was crap when it first came out, but rewatching the series (along with the season 1, which is also on DVD) I found myself nostalgic for the series and excited (albeit hesitantly so) for the upcoming 4th film.
All in all decent choices on DVD this week, and with no end in sight for a writers strike. . .dvd's are a grand second option.
