Bea Arthur is going to be inducted into the TV Hall of Fame on December 9th! Bea was asked five years ago, but she said, "So sorry, very nice of you, but I can't possibly accept. There are so many talented people in the business...When I hung up, I thought, `Why the hell did I do that?'"
Yeah, Bea, why the hell would you turn it down five years ago? Your voice and your haircut is iconic!!!! I think Bea is a pop culture icon and deserves to be in the Hall of Fame the same if not more than anyone else in there. So I will take this time to give you a big Congrats!!! And may I add that you look great for 86 years-old! And your voice, oh your voice...it still hasn't changed. ;-)
Other people being inducted are:
Larry Gelbart (writer, MASH, Tootsie)
Merv Griffin
Sherwood Schwartz (Brady Bunch, Gilligan's Island)
Thomas Murphy and Daniel B. Burke (former Capital Cities/ABC executives)

Not one but two iconic characters, Maude and Dorothy Zbornak!!
I remember when she had a chin lift, I believe, on Maude. Think how many years ago that was! But she doesn't look overprocessed.
Very deserved, IMO.
