Cason Daly said that NBC gave him an ultimatum to return. He said, "they said 'you either come back or they're laid off'....Let's turn the lights on!" Funny, how I didn't see too many people complain about him coming back.
Ellen Degeneres comes back, crossing the picket line, and she's under scrutiny by the WGA West, WGA East, other writers, but Carson comes back and people are like, 'still don't care'. He doesn't even get bad publicity, but instead makes a public statement about his ultimatum so he could get SOME publicity. Poor Carson, I care, still doesn't mean I'll watch your show, but you get my vote for sympathy and for saving jobs!

Actually, I have a friend in the WGAE, and they said that pretty much everyone thinks Daly is an asshole. I think the bigger reason that there's not a ton of fuss is that no one watches his show anyway, unlike Ellen, who could actually exert some advertiser/ratings pressure were she to support the strike.
