Christina is one brave woman. She didn't want to keep going back to the doctors every four months for check-ups and just wanted the breast cancer to be gone, so she opted for a bilateral mastectomy. She told Robin Roberts of Good Morning America, "My decision, after looking at all the treatment plans that were possibilities for me was to have a bilateral mastectomy."
She also said that she will be going through reconstruction surgery over the next eight months, so she won't be boob-free.
She continued, "Yea, I'm going to face challenges, but you can't get any darker than where I've been. So, just knowing that in my soul gave me the strength to say, 'I've go to -- I have to get out there and -- and make this positive...And you know, I'm going to have cute boobs till I'm 90."
Stay strong Christina!!!

Going through cancer in private is devastating enough. Allowing your treatment to become a lesson for the public is an incomparable act of bravery.
God bless her.

Poor Christina.
But, considering she tested positive for the BRCA1 gene (some sort of mutated gene, known to cause breast and ovarian cancer) and that her mother had it, it was a smart choice.
I wish her the best.

I wish her the best of luck - She will make an excellen roll model for others, especially young women who have had to go through this.
She's a hero - especially going through it Hollywood.
