Court TV R.I.P. (1991-2007)

The death of Court TV is coming near. It didn't have the longest life, it was only born in 1991. During its short years, we saw the O.J. Simpson trial, the Ever so now-skinny Star Jones show, Forensic Files among many other. It's spirit will live through it's new spawn, truTV starting January 1st. I didn't even know Court TV that well. We had some common acquaintances. However, I would like to take this moment to offer my sympathy to it's past shows, past anchors, past courtrooms. Where do I start? How do I begin a farewell when I still can't believe you're gone? Why did you have to go? I feel you weren't done with me yet. You have more to teach me, don't you? I remember you when you were born.

You were so full of life, so young, and eager to report it all. I was in elementary school, and I had so much to learn from you. It just hurts so much. I will miss you. I'll miss my bored nights sitting on the couch with you eating Doritos, drinking Diet Coke and wishing you had better programming. I never gave up though, never gave up. I remember I would flip you on and off, and thinking, why did they even give you life, but you proved your self worth. You changed though, you changed. You went from the court room to reality programming. Why would you do that? Was this world not offering you enough for you to transform? You would always say to me, "Objection overruled," or "What gear were you in the moment of impact?"

Who am I?

But now you have truly given up and want to go to the dark side of doing shows such as Beach Patrol and Party Heat. It makes me so sad. It hurts so much. I hope and pray you have finally found peace from your court room demons, from your torment. I loved you without even getting to know you that well. I wish we could have gotten closer, but I guess it was my choice not yours. You were always there for me, and I wasn't there for you. Please rest peacefully.
