Scrubs creator, Bill Lawrence, just sold a 'Cougar' pilot to ABC Studios. Cougar Town, starring Courteney Cox, will be a single-camera comedy about a newly single 40-year-old mom and her late-teenage son.
They're shooting the pilot in January, and hoping for a mid-season pick-up.
Are Cougars the new black?

This sounds like the same tired genre as "Dirt." And we all know how that turned out. Meaning, take a word in common slang and build a show around it. Since the cougar thing has been parodied by SNL (of all places) for 2-3 years now, I'd give Courteney's idea a one-word review: "late."
No, thanks!
