Celebrity Extortionist, David Hans Schmidt, committed suicide yesterday in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a guy who made his living off selling celebrities' own dirty laundry back to celebrities themselves.
His latest fiasco was trying to sell back Tom Cruise his wedding photos for one million dollars after recovering them from a damaged hard drive. Other deals he's famous for brokering are the Paris Hilton's storage unit deal, the Dustin Diamond sex tape (which was a planned sex tape for sale, gross), the Tonya Harding honeymoon sex tape, Colin Farrel's sex tape, and Jamie Foxx's penis pictures, among many others.
Allegedly he was on house-arrest, and was facing up to two years in the slammer. When the authorities came to check on him because his tracker had not moved, they found him hung in the shower. Ouch.
Looks like his demons got to him before the ghost of L. Ron did.
