Idol is not about winning anymore, it's about making a lasting impression. Kris (who I announced last week) signed a deal with Jive, Adam scored a deal with RCA, and now fourth-place finisher Allison Iraheta just scored a deal with Jive (just like Kris). Nice work you guys!!! Allison's album is set to debut this fall.
I knew the three would get a lot of action as soon as the show was over. And, I admit that I wasn't a Kris Allen fan until he made the top 4, but he did a great of winning me over and has grown on me a lot. It's amazing, but not really surprising that we haven't heard a peep from Danny Gokey. He must be too busy making his "eyewear" line, Hokey Gokey for Men.

How come Gokey doesn't have a deal? He got a lot of votes.

Probably because he's actually terrible.
The record execs don't care about the votes.
