Interview: Nads Talks To Allison Iraheta About Idol

allison iraheta elimination

Hey Gasmii, I had the chance to briefly talk to Allison Iraheta after she got eliminated last week about her Idol experience.

Here's the interview:
Nads: I've asked everyone this question, what did you think of the four person panel? What did you think of Kara?
Allison: I liked the four person panel. It was a good change. And I loved Kara. I think they all bring something different to the table.

Nads: Being the last girl in the race, did the boys treat you like a little sister?
Allison: It was so fun, like they would always pick on me. If they would have little arguments I'd chime in and they'd say “You stay out of this, you’re only 12 years old.” And I’m like “aw.” It’s love; you know? It’s so cool. It was like a family, just really great and we all got along so well. And really it felt like I was their little sister, and they would really stand up for me. And the cool thing is that they would help me with song choice.

Nads: Did you parents stay in the mansion with you?
Allison: Yes, I had my mom stay with me
Nads: How was that?
Allison: She was just very supportive. She was always like, “Alright, I’ll let you do what you’ve got to do,” so it was pretty awesome that I had her with me.

Nads: Let's talk about what happened before the show...the Idol sign, and everything else...was that distracting for you all?
Allison: Things were just not going well, or even going the way they were supposed to. But I think during each of our performances, we probably started off a little shaky, but then I think we all just got into place and continued on with what we were supposed to do

Nads: What was it like working with Slash? What it so exciting for you?
Allison: You have no idea. When I heard it was Slash I was like “Oh my gosh, Jesus, I cannot wait to meet him, he’s so awesome.” I’ve been a fan for so long and it is insane that I got to like sing while he was playing for us. It was such a good opportunity and he was like, I think he was like one of the best mentor’s we’ve had, hands down. And we were just so happy he took time out of his schedule to come to the show and help us out.

Nads: What did you think of Simon's comments about your personality...did it hurt you?
Allison: It sort of did. I was like come on, I’m singing here. But I think overall they all look for what you’re going to do as a selling artist. I know there were a lot of risks I did in dressing and all that, but I had fun with it, so I think that’s what mattered.

Nads: Did being in the bottom three throughout the season affect your song choice?
Allison: It really didn’t affect anything, because I felt like I was doing pretty good. So I was just like, “I’m prepared for anything. If I’m in the bottom three again and I’m actually eliminated, I’m ready, it’s okay,” because I knew I’d be leaving on a good note. I honestly feel like I did pretty good and I’m pretty proud of myself.

Nads: What about school? What's your plan?
Allison: Well it depends if I just take my GED test, I’m totally done. But right now I’m still just working on some other stuff at school, I really want to continue with the Idol school, it’s so fun and I have a great teacher.

Nads: What grade are you in officially?
Allison: I’m between, it’s really because I was home schooled, so I was doing a lot of things ahead of time. So while I was a junior I was doing a lot of other stuff ahead, I was pretty much ahead.
------

I want to thank Allison for taking the time to chat with me! She has a really big career ahead of her!!!
