OMG. That performance could not have been real!! For those of you who didn't get to see Britney's performance of "Gimme More" at the MTV VMAs, you did not miss out at all! I feel so bad for her!!
I was so looking forward to her opening, but so many things went wrong on so many levels. First of all, WAS SHE NOT rehearsing with Criss Angel to disappear? None of that happened at all. In fact, if she had disappeared it would have saved her an embarrassment. She had her entourage of back-up dancers doing their job, but Britney certainly did not fulfill her end of the dancing bargain!
She came on the stage looking like a baby taking their first steps. Her eyes were not focused at all, and she was completely out of synch. She looked like she was completely bored walking around the stage like a lost puppy.
Then to make it worse, she totally forgot to even lip-synch! For God's sake Britney, get it together! In the past, the one thing that Brit has been famous for is lip-synching during her shows, but we'd forgive her because she was such a good dancer. So this time: she didn't even have her dancing to back her up. Instead, her back-ups showed her up.
When MTV panned out to the audience everyone had this blank look on their face. I'm sure they were thinking, "What the f*&k was that?" This makes me so sad because I really thought that this could be her big come back, but I guess this wasn't her time. The upside to this whole thing is that her new songs are not TOO bad.
For Brit's sake, thank God that there was a Tommy Lee/Kid Rock fight to stear the attention away from her big WHOOPS!
K-Fed must be at home laughing his ass off. The funny/sad thing about this is that he's the one that's come out on top of this whole situation.
But then again, Britney said it herself, "It's Britney, Bitch" and that she is.

Is she TOTALLY isolated? Doesn't she have PR people, personal assistants, SOMEONE to help out?
It was so awful, I can barely discuss it.
I hope someone is on suicide watch in the Spears House.

And yeah, I found the performance sad. She looked dazed and there was a few flashes of fear in there as well. I don't know if it was the hangover from partying all weekend or what, but something is seriously wrong and watching the performance almost made me uncomfortable.
I hope she gets better.

we were all totally rooting for her big comeback. We were all rooting for her big comeback when she filed for divorce from KFed...and she blew that opportunity too.
But let's face it..she's a 25 year old mother of two, out of shape, out of touch, out of rehab and just plain out of it. I also remember her having knee surgery a while back, and honestly I dont think shes been the same physically ever since (I know, I have MAJOR knee problems and my body is taking forever to heal)
I don't know how long MTV gave her notice that she'd be performing the VMA's, but she obviously wasnt ready. I almost forgot myself how HOT Brit used to be...not to mention a great dancer and entertainer.
Also, who the hell thought that outfit was a good idea? Dont get me wrong, I think she's got a very cute body but that look is very "2001 Britney". It's time to grow up. It's not doing anything to help the "2007 Britney".Really, WHO in the music/dancing industry wears outfits like that anymore?!?! The in-look now is total glam, not total sleaze.
Poor Brit. I dont ever want to totally give up on her though. I will always root for that chick

The whole show was a complete trainwreck. MTV needs to go back to the old way of doing things. Britney's perfomance was horrible. I'm ashamed to say that I sat and watched the whole thing...and rewatched it today. Yikes!

Britney Spears does not deserve another chance! She has blown it too many times. In the real world, the rest of us would be fired and unemployable if we behaved like she did. There is NO excuse for that poor performance. She needs to get over herself and her issues and check herself. Her JOB is to entertain, which means being in shape and on point at all times. Thats why you make so much money in the entertainment industry, your job is to be hot and entertaining. She could not pull it together for the VMAs, so what makes anyone think she will pull it together for anything or anybody else? Her heart is not in this anymore. She needs to just take her money and dissapear and stop insulting real entertainers and celebs that do not take things for granted.
