It's Remake Central And I'm Going To Puke

hilary duff

I know that I've already written about some of these shows being remade, but here's the complete list (as of today) of shows that they're actually going through with:

-Hillary Duff in Bonnie and Clyde (movie)
-ABC is piloting the remake of V (the alien invasion story) - Why?
-ABC is also piloting the remake of The Witches of Eastwick
-Sony is doing Lost in the 80's - Their 2009 version of The Wonder Years
-And of course like I mentioned a few months ago, Fox is making a U.S. Version of Ab Fab

I don't see any of these shows having any success. They should learn from the past two years...remakes just don't work. I know that Jennifer Saunders is working on Ab Fab with the Fox, but have they NOT learned anything from Kath and Kim? I hope they prove me wrong, but this above list has disaster written all over it.

Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?!?!?!?

Come to think of it, I was just thinking that Hillary Duff is the Faye Dunaway of this generation. I sure hope Zac Efron plays Clyde he is the most AWESOMEST. :P
Excuse me while I go barf.

oh man what a post. As for Hillary Duff in Bonnie and Clyde, I can't help thinking that between this and Hollywood force feeding us a Shia Labeouf era that the balloon payment for the good times of Lizzie Mguire is a bit more then we were expecting.
Why do a V remake Nads? Because America needs the simple joy you can get from a show were Freddie Kruger falls in love and eats whole hamsters. Do you remember the 80's? Good times, good times.
The Witches of Eastwick remake stumps me. The only reason I can come up for this getting green lit is the fact that when ABC wants to show the world they're classy, they remake a Jack Nicholson movie. Look for their remake of Five Easy Pieces next year with the original cast of Wings.
The Wonder Years ripoff set in the 80's? You know what? Next to the other things on this list, it doesn't seem that bad.
Sigh, looks like TV executives think I need to catch up on my reading this year.

Hey Buddy:

How's that "The Office" remake doing? I guess not all remakes are disasters. ;-)
