HBO just gave Lisa Lampanelli the go-ahead to shoot her pilot. Her new show is going to be produced by Jim Carrey and will have Lisa playing herself, but set in a comedy club.

Lisa on her show:
"It took us about a year to find the right writer and the network - HBO and Showtime said they both wanted it...Who's not going to want a show with Jim Carrey overseeing it? There are tons of awful men, there are awful codependence and food issues...She inherits a comedy club in L.A."

The Lisa show sounds a lot like the "today" version of Rosanne, but with stand-up.
