Yay! The first cast hire for The Office spin-off is Aziz Ansari! Aziz was on MTV's Human Giant and is a hilarious stand-up. So happy! Universal is pretty tight lipped about the spin-off and it may be a "planted spinoff" where they intro the new characters in The Office before starting. Or, they're saying, it may not even be a spin-off at all, but instead a whole new concept in the same vein as The Office. Everything is up in the air right now, but it will all be put together shortly.

Producer Michael Schur said, "We're focusing on making the best show we can make as a companion to 'The Office,"...We're trying to come up with the best concept and hire the funniest writers. In the next couple of weeks, we'll be making the final move to one specific idea."
