That's sad. Although when I was little I thought he looked just like the evil magician on Frosty The Snowman and so I hated him lol.

About all I can remember about the character is that he always wanted George to walk on his back...I was not very old when The Jeffersons was on TV for its first run.

A few years ago I saw Mr. Benedict perform in the Broadway Musical "The Music Man". I had the opportunity to speak with him after the show and I'll always remember him as being quite affable and down to earth. The fact is he was a very accomplished actor with a long resume of theatre work.
He will be missed by all.
