Warner Bros. is planning on remaking the 1981 hit comedy Arthur with Russell Brand (potentially). I loved the original Arthur, and while I'm usually not a fan of re-makes, I really think that Russell Brand can pull this off. He has the 2008 sensibility of Dudley Moore (just add 8 inches); plus, what a great way for him to make a comeback after what happened with the BBC.

From the press release, "Brand is meeting with scribes to write the screenplay, which will be produced by MBST's Larry Brezner, whose credits range from "Good Morning, Vietnam" to HBO's recent "Little Britain USA."

If anyone can pull off a remake it will be the marriage between Russell Brand and Larry Brezner. It's not totally official, but let's keep our fingers and toes crossed.
