OMG, I'm so happy about last night's elimination.
(click to read about it after the jump...WARNING: SPOILER ALERT)
Before we talk about the elimination what was up with Allison Iraheta being in the bottom three??? WTF?
Onward...
Megan Joy Corkery got eliminated last night, finally. I had a feeling she'd go, but I got worried for a quick second when I saw my Anoop next to her. Can I tell you what drove me nuts last night about Megan? Her stupid "crow" ka-kaw and flapping arms! OMG, I was about to start playing Duck Hunt with my TV.
And how about Simon saying, "So I'm not going to pretend that we're even going to contemplate saving you." That was a big Ouch, but whatevs, she deserved it.
Anyway, she's gone and I'm happy.
Here are the remaining 8 contestants:
1. Kris Allen
2. Anoop Desai
3. Matt Giraud
4. Danny Gokey
5. Allison Iraheta
6. Adam Lambert
7. Lil Rounds
8. Scott MacIntyre
Thoughts about last night's episode?

OMFG -- I was afraid she'd never leave! I NEVER saw what the judges saw in her, except her somewhat unique style of (largely tuneless) singing and her very appealing face and figure.
That arm ink that BLANKETS her right arm, tho? UGH! FUGLY as anything. Why oh why do pretty girls grafitti themselves like this?
And the way she shimmied all the time - BARF!
Last week we wanted "Blindy, Oily and Wriggly" to go.
Two outa three...

I really hope this whole body art trend thing will die soon. Might have to wait until these kids' kids are old enough to all proclaim their individuality together in more or less exactly the same way.
I was happy to see Megan go only because if she'd had stayed another week she might have started to become too annoying to watch --as opposed to the sole remaining ray of hotness on idol.
I think she tanked herself though -- they really shouldn't let young single mothers with just one kid under the age of four on this show.

I'm with you both on Megan. She made me wanna puke. Her arm looked like Christian Audigier threw up on it.
She was so gross, and I'm so happy she's gone. I had to do a conference call w/ her today for the eliminated Idol, and I had to bite my tongue doing the interview...it was really hard to be nice. I'm actually questioning even posting the interview, is that bad?

Uh, post the interview. I want to know what single muthers have to say.
TV GUIDE (magazine) had a close up of her tattoo. There wasn't a unicorn in it but it was almost as bad.

Why all the hate? The girl tried out for a show and the judges put her through. America had previous chances to vote her off and chose not to. OK now she is gone. It's just not her fault that she got on the show. Do any of you personally know her? She could be a nice person. I think this hate is directed in the wrong direction. Blame the judges or the American voters for leaving her on this long. Come on--give the girl a break. All she did was try to live her dream.

BTW Mr. Dangerous--just what the heck do you think is wrong with being a single mother? Do you think they are stupid or ignorant? I would guess they have the same type of things to say as anyone else.

I believe Mr. Dangerous prefers sex that doesn't lead to procreation.
Don't get me wrong: I really liked Megan. I just hated the arm tattoo. (Okay I wasn't a big fan of the goofy bit either, but at least she wasn't boring).
For the rest, I think mostly she lacked experience -- apparently she'd never even sung into a microphone before idol. With some vocal training she'll drop the Ella Fitzgerald crap and develop her own style. And she'll have a really great voice too. Seriously.
And it really doesn't hurt that she looks pretty fine. Definitely more pleasant to look at than Gokey, who appears to be permanently constipated. Or he's been stuffed full with a douchebag... himself.

Oh yeah, I forgot: what I meant by my single mom comment was that it seems like it's really too difficult for these girls to leave their babies behind like that.
Or at least it should be.
Especially when the kids are as young as theirs are.
It's a bit different for Lil, because she has three kids--so she's not as fused with any one of them--and her husband's taking care of them.
So that's why I think Megan just kind of petered out and just couldn't put up a fight anymore. Probably same thing went for the other single mom, the skinny one.
And it makes no sense -- Allison's mom gets to be at the mansion with her, so why couldn't they find room for the girls' kids?

geez you guys!!! i have a single mom...and megan being a single mom had nothing to do w/ me not liking her. she just plain bugged me as a contestant.

My comment about single moms had nothing to do with what anyone said except Mr. D. I think his tone was condesending (sp-sorry) and not funny. I love this site and love to laugh, but I just don't think Megan deserved all the hateful comments. BTW I didn't care for her singing either--esp. when she absolutely destroyed one of Patsy Cline's songs. Living in Patsy's home town, we country folk take that stuff seriously! But I don't hate her--I don't even know her.

Itchy, I was reading over the posts again and just have to ask you a question. If they don't let single moms with young kids on does that go for the dads too? Just wondering.
hey nads--you might find out you really like her. You like her! You really like her!!!!

itchy - you rock. I wholeheartedly concur.
Hey, it's fun to hate weirdos.
I have my suspicions (granted - complete & wild speculation on my part) that little Megan is a victim of child abuse which *might* explain the weird, off-kilter facial expressions; the child out of wedlock at a young age(not necessarily the product of said abuse); and the body defacement.
But then again, I have a pretty wild imagination.
NADS - I haven't heard your iv, but honey, take it from another, rather seasoned interviewer - grow some balls and ask the tough or controversial questions. Try it!
If you choose your phrasing carefully, and also make sure to do it at the end (in case they get offended and walk - which has never happened to me), you might be surprised by the interesting answers you receive.
Don't be afraid to go there!

Cookie, are you asking if I thought Jason was a douche?
Yes, I did.
;-D

Uh, NYC cookie if you read the American Idol recaps you would know that I actually say nice things about Meagan.
uh, it appears as if you're bringing "your own baggage" to my comment.
If you're a single mom that's fine with me. If your daughter is a single mom that's fine with me.
You might take the anger down a notch.
