I had limited access to my computer while I was on vacation, and was obviously living under a rock for the past two weeks because nothing pop culture mattered to me, not even The Hills (even though its over), or The Shitty, or any other trashy show I like to obsess over. But the one thing that I did come back to that made me sad was the death of John Travolta and Kelly Preston's son, Jett. I don't care what people are saying about John and Kelly not medicating their son because of their religion, the fact is that he's gone and it's really sad. John and Kelly released this statement on Kelly's website:
We would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks to everyone who has sent their love and condolences.
Jett was the most wonderful son that two parents could ever ask for and lit up the lives of everyone he encountered. We are heartbroken that our time with him was so brief. We will cherish the time we had with him for the rest of our lives. We have received many messages of condolence from around the world and we want to thank everyone for their prayers and support. It has meant so much to us. It is a beautiful reminder of the inherent goodness in the human spirit that gives us ahope for a brighter future.
The autopsy is today, so I guess the official cause will be released soon. So sad.

No one in the Entertainment Business seems to have the love and joy for family, friends and life that John does.
The fact he and his wife's medical care for their son is being publicly scrutinized is disgusting. There is no "right to know" anything. It's gross that there are outlets for lurid details of individuals very personal losses, and even more horrific there is the desire from the public that feeds the bile production.
John never trotted his kids out for the celebrity dog and pony photo ops to further his career so I feel dreadful to my core to see the swell begin.
The headline "John is Devasted, Unconsolelable", well is that news??? Is that some sort of suprise a father that crazy in love with his family is "Devastated".
I really can't believe how we have lost our touch with humanity.
Suri Cruise and those Brangie kids don't stand a chance at any sense of freedom in their forecast.
I need a shower now.

Nads and etexman, What you said really touched me.
It shouldn't be anybody bought the Travolta's business whether their son was medicated or not. Many people take an alternative route to medical care. Some poeple do not only rely on western science to cure.
It is definitely a personal choice for them to put their son on meds or take him off. I'm sure that whatever was the case it was done out of love, not out of crazy- (scientology) -ness. They new the repercussions of both choices and whichever they chose was their personal belief.
Why should we judge other people because they don't fit the status quo. They loved their child very much, as much as any other parent would love theirs, and they did what they thought was best for their family. They don't need strangers judgment on their beliefs especially in a time of such sadness.

you're both so right, I was so disgusted when i started reading other stories about the meds situation. i was like, hello, they have LOST their child. i'm not a mother, but would like to be some day, and i know that would be the hardest thing in the world to lose your own child. i was a mess for such a long time after losing my grandpa...i couldn't even imagine losing a child.
people have nothing better to do than sit in judgement of others.
