Tina Fey Is Hosting The First SNL Post-Strike Episode

Saturday Night Live is returning on February 23rd with Tina Fey as the host, and then the following week they will have guest host, Ellen Page (from Juno). I think it's about time that Tina came back to SNL and taught them a few things even if it is for a guest host. The show was finally starting to pick-up post-Tina Fey, and then, the strike came and screwed everything up.

The one thing I've noticed about SNL is that I never embrace the current cast whatever year it is. I'm always reminiscent of the old casts, and then, I appreciate the current casts once they're gone. I know everyone talks about the Belushi days, which I appreciate and love, but I can't fully get behind because I was too young to know any better. However, I can comment on the Mike Myers/Dana Carvey cast, which is the cast that I always compare the current actors to. I loved that era of SNL, but eventually everything has to come to an end, and they leave you high and dry trying to get used to someone new. But, then the replacements weren't soo bad, the next duo they brought in was Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri, but I never embraced them FULLY because I was so pissed at Mike Myers and Dana for leaving. I was living in SNL past. I kept on saying remember the good ol' days with Mike and Dana? What happened?

Then, when Will and Cheri left me high and dry (just as I learned to LOVE them) and Rachel Dratch came, I was like, remember the good ol' days with Will and Cheri? Then Rachel left, and so on and so forth. I've officially become a battered housewife with the SNL cast members, and I'm still here (barely). I guess the one lesson I've learned with SNL is: appreciate the cast under your nose, because if you don't you may live in SNL regret forever, and never get your SNL chi in line with the stars. I guess what I'm really trying to say is, Tina, will you make a cameo on Weekend Update, because I finally appreciate you now!?
