The WGA won't let any of their writers write on any of the awards show. That means no WGA writers on the Golden Globes or the Oscars. The two awards shows have asked for waivers, but the WGA has turned both shows down. That means Jon Steward is prohibited from writing his own Academy Awards monologue.
Patrick Verrone, the WGA president hopes that the strike will be over before the Golden Globes, so they wouldn't even be needing any exceptions. But, for now, the two shows that rely heavily on writing will have no WGA writers.

Oh no. No more forced, stupid dialogue between presenters. Maybe this will cut down the show to less than 2 hours.

It'll be a better and more interesting show without the writers.
