"I ain't afraid of no ghosts"

Columbia Pictures plans to revive Ghostbusters. They want to do a third installment which will reunite Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson once again! Apparently Columbia has already hired Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky to write the script, and the movie is already on it's way.

So why did Columbia wait so long? Are they jumping on the remake bandwagon? The studio is claiming the cast wanted too much money back then for Ghostbusters 3...so I guess they waited it out until the guys got old and less demanding. Geez if they waited any longer they'd have to chase the ghosts down with their walkers.
