« Saturday Night at the Movies | | John McCain on SNL: Please Keep Sarah Palin in My Life for the Next Decade »

Sunday: Life without "Mad Men".

I'm already having "Mad Men" withdrawals. Here it is Sunday and it's hard for me to accept the fact that the season is over. I checked AMC to see if they were going to air repeats, but NO!, they have replaced that treasured time slot with "Terminator 2: Judgement Day." So it's "Hasta la vista, Mad Men"! Makes me want to jump.......

Last night's "Saturday Night Live" was hit & miss. I thought the beginning was good with Tina Palin & Gov. McCain hawking merchendise on QVC. I tried to call & buy the "Joe Action Figures". The lines were busy. Ben Affleck's skit as Keith Oberman was a total bomb. Did you notice that McCain & Ben never appeared on stage at the same time. David Cook did a good job. I knew he'd sing "Light On". Amy needs to come back to "Weekend UpDate". That scene with her 'aunt' was just obnoxious. Affleck's 'Target' skit was pointless. Don't these actors know how to turn things down a notch. I just don't find anything funny about "SNL" anymore. Their skits seem thrown together & the actors are just trying to sell what they are given to work with, which isn't much. Maybe that's the reason for their over-dramatics. Was McCain's appearance as sucessful as his VP candidates? I don't think so. I bet Ms. Fey will be glad when this is all over. (and hoping McCain/Palin lose). I know I'm sick to death of it.

We have the Season Premiere of "Brotherhood" tonight on ShowTime" at 8pm. It's their third season. I have never watched before, but the previews have my interest. Are there any fans out there? I need some opinions.

Firthguy:

Brotherhood is definitely worth watching, but you have to watch it from the beginning of Season 1. Better than the Sopranos. Yeah, I said it. :-)
