Lane Garrison gets a prison break

Prison Break actor Lane Garrison got a real-life prison break (get it?) in court today. The judge declined to sentence him for his fatal car crash, saying he needed more information about Lane's psychological condition.

Beverly Hills Judge Elden S. Fox said he wanted to make sure he was treating Garrison as he would a non-celebrity. He ordered the actor to undergo a 90-day psychiatric evaluation and come back on to court on Halloween.

Lane Garrison, the actor who plays "Tweener" on Fox's Prison Break and became a star after he crashed his SUV, killing a 17-year-old Beverly Hills High School student who was among his unlikely passengers, is expected to plead guilty this morning to vehicular manslaughter.

Which most likely means that he'll soon have some time to plan a real-life prison break.

Garrison was at the wheel last December 2nd when his 2001 Land Rover SUV jumped a curb in Beverly Hills, and slammed into a tree. Along with the 17-year-old dead boy, two fifteen-year-old girl passengers were also hurt.

For his part, cops say Garrison had a blood-alcohol level of .20 and had cocaine in his system.

Garrison, who's 26 (he turns 27 on Wednesday) and as a troubled teen lived with Jessica Simpson and her minister dad, supposedly met the kids at a convenience store and followed them to a teenage party.

Lane Garrison prays for a real-life prison break

lanegarrison.jpgLane Garrison, the actor from Prison Break who didn't get much notice until after he got arrested in real life, is in for some real publicity.

He's going to be charged with manslaughter.

The 26-year-old is expected to surrender this afternoon in connection with the car crash that killed a teenage passenger and injured two others. He'll be charged with felony gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated; driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; and providing alcohol to a minor.

The charges could lead to a long prison sentence. And too bad for Lane, he's not famous enough to be a sure bet to beat the rap.
