Nielsen Ratings: Thursday January 11, 2007

Ratings-Tm-3-26Wednesdays hit ARMED & FAMOUS couldn't build an audience, in fact losing some viewers from its premier and dropping NBC into third place. In my opinion SMALLVILLE has completely derailed and become one of the worst hours on television (yet I'm still inexplicably watching), though it is good enough to TIE for last place against 'TIL DEATH and even avoid last place when opposite sophomore season WAR AT HOME, a rare feat for the CW. GREY'S pays off nicely once again for abc pulling in nearly 25% of all viewers last night in its time slot. The sinking ship THE OC managed to suck again last night pulling in a 1.7 rating with a 4 share. Proving beyond a reasonable doubt that Mischa Barton and her nipples were the only thing that made the show what it was and with the news of its cancellation maybe the producers will rethink killing her off. In other news MEN IN TREES is still on the air and people are watching. . . more than watched SCRUBS, CSI or any number of shows last night. . . so why haven't I met a single person who's watched it? It's like EVERYONE LOVES RAYMOND.

For the complete ratings breakdown and who won the night, stick around after the jump. . .

How do I read these ratings?

A Nielsen rating may look like this:

8pm - NBC - TVgasm The TV Show - 10.0/18

Focus on the 10.0/18. The RATING, 10.0, on the left represents the actual number of households that watched a show. One rating point equals 1,102,000 households. The SHARE, 18, on the right represents the show's proportion of the total households watching television at that time.

For example, TVgasms TV Show has a 10 rating/18 share. That means 11,020,000 households are tuned in to the show and 18% of all the households with a TV turned on are watching that show.

Ratings and Share are customarily broken down for various DEMOs -- a demographic grouping of viewers, like 18-49 adults or 2-12 children or 18-34 women, etc. Advertisers, and therefore networks, covet the 18-49 adult demo, and so tend to concentrate on that number.

I really don't think killing Marissa off is what killed this show....the show is so much better this year.
It's last year's suckiness and this year's time slot!!
