"Boston" Rob Mariano, four-time reality TV show loser and one-half of the beloved "Romber" reality TV couple, has formally announced that big reality show with the $10 million prize that he'd promised would revolutionize reality TV.

Tontine, named for the investment scheme that pays off to the last surviving investor, will follow 15 contestants over 100 days. Each contestant gets a "special key" that unlocks a portion of the $10 million grand prize. The cast will be put through a series of challenges that put the keys up for grabs, until one contestant has all 15 keys, allowing him or her to unlock the $10 million.

Casting begins Saturday, June 30 in Dallas and carry on in Nashville, New York, Boston, St. Louis, Minneapolis, San Diego and Los Angeles.

Rob says Tontine will start filming in September for a Spring 2008 premiere. The show does not seem to have a network attached.

Who else thinks that Rob got his idea for this show from that Simpsons episode where Grandpa and Mr. Burns were in a tontine together?

I was clearly stated that it was not Rob's idea for the show, but they for some reason won't reveal the network who is backing this show. . . isn't that weird??

I just auditioned in NY this last weekend and ok everyone hold onto your hats. They kept hinting that you might have to put up your posessions to be a contestant. I wonder how many people will still want to audition?
