'Reno 911!' at the movies on Oscar® weekend

Okay, so not every story's about American Idol's Antonella-- well, at least maybe not in your house. So we can't forget that a TV comedy series that seemed one of the least likely to make it to the big screen opens in theatres today. Comedy Central's Reno 911! cops head to Miami in the aptly-titled Reno 911! Miami. The LA Times called the movie "amusing." The NY Times said it's a "sloppy affair" that "provokes some chuckles and minor hoots."

But hey, we'll leave the reviews to Sutter Cane. And we can't all be Sacha Baron-Cohen-- even though the Reno cast did their best Borats by staying in character for the premiere in trendy Tribeca.

Our pal Rina over at the Court TV blog interviewed the cops there, as they riffed on celebrities like Mel Gibson, Britney Spears, P. Diddy, Judge Judy and Daniel Radcliffe-- and the show COPS. And since Baron-Cohen apparently won't be allowed to bring Borat to the Oscars®, consider this to be the next closest thing on Oscar weekend... after the jump...

Read Rina's interview with the Reno 911! cast here. For some reason, there's no mention of that prosthetic butt (which we thought was real until someone pointed it out).
