John McCain on SNL: Please Keep Sarah Palin in My Life for the Next Decade

If you're like me, you don't bother recording SNL any more. What's the point? I usually just sit there with a frozen Milky Way in one hand and the remote firmly in the other. Do you know how hard it is to concentrate on a Milky Way when you're holding your finger down on the FF button? Well, it's hard. Anyway, this election season has given the show some great material. I know this because I watch the clips on Sunday on YouTube or Breitbart or whatever. They filter through the crap for me. The Thursday Updates I have watched, and they have been pretty solid. So this week I decided to stop being such a grouch and record the show again. The first five minutes killed me, and then I juggled the Milky Way and the remote through the rest. Ah well, it's better than nothing!

The Palin and McCain clip hawking their agenda on QVC is worth watching, so catch it after the jump! Also, since it's a slow weekend and I got nothin but love for ya, I've included this weekend's prank call to Palin. If you haven't heard it, settle in and don't drink anything while you listen.

Sarah Palin Takes it Like a Pro

Palin showed up on SNL last night. They didn't give her much to do, but she proved that she can smile and be likable even while being smacked around on national TV. At one point, she asked Lorne Michaels why they couldn't do the sketch she wrote. LOL. PLEASE. DO THE SKETCH SHE WROTE! Ok, maybe it's a stretch to think that she actually sat down and laid a sketch down on paper, but it's a fun thought. I'd like to think it would involve a Cindy McCain ice stare and blonde wig.

Alas, there were no Cindy roasts. She did manage, however, to squeeze in a "You betcha!" Check out the sketches after the jump!

Kenan Thompson is bringing Skinny back

Kenan likes it! Move over bacon, here comes something leaner. SNL's Kenan Thompson wants to lose 60 pounds so he can play Barak Obama for next season's big presidential year. I'm so glad that he's so inspired by the presidential campaign to lose some weight. I was starting to worry that all of his clothes were going have "Property of NFL XXL" on it.

Maya Rudolph may leave SNL

NBA star LeBron James will host the season premiere of Saturday Night Live this fall. But while the Cleveland Cavalier is signed up, castmember Maya Rudolph is not.

SNL boss Lorne Michaels (the model for Austin Powers's Dr Evil) said at the TV Critics' show that "talks are continuing" to hold onto to Maya.

We know she does Oprah, but do you think she's worth holding on to?

SNL blows a good Sanjaya joke

Was the shot of old Dan Aykroyd really the best punchline for the bit?
