NBC is being deliberately vague about the future of Scrubs.
Last week, they ran a promo warning there are "just four episodes left."
A spot during Monday's Heroes hyped "the final episodes" of the series.
Usually, the networks make it clear the countdowns are leading to a season finale.
In this case, the fate of Scrubs really is up in the air.
You see, the show rates okay... but...
...on the downside, star Zach Braff is very expensive-- and NBC doesn't share in the show profits because Scrubs is produced by Touchstone (owned by ABC).
There was talk a year ago that Scrubs could move to ABC, and that talk's started up again--though because of a new deal ABC Television Studios recently made with Zach, Scrubs could be too expensive for its owners to produce!
NBC executives say they won't make a decision on renewing the show until after they've screened their pilots.

If NBC cancels Scrubs, ABC is picking it up. BIll Lawerence, creator of Scrubs, has stated this. So yeah one more season.
