BUZZ!
"What is any new drama series except Studio 60 on The Sunset Strip, Alex?"
Ooh, sorry. You're wrong.
Studio 60, Aaron Sorkin's very expensive West Coast West Wing series, beat the odds today when it received a full order for a full 22-episode season today from NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly (who's responsible for the above quote). So, potential recappers, here's a show with more than enough quirky characters, pompous speeches, groaners, retreaded Sports Night scenes, and wince-making imitations of comedy sketches to fill pages. Plus Matthew Perry and an increasingly pregnant Amanda Peet.
60 hasn't not proven to be the network's wittiest or even most compelling new series based on Saturday Night Live, and its imminent euthanization has been rumoured for weeks. But the smallish audience it's attracted has been upscale and even rich, so it hasn't yet been a losing proposition for NBC. Things should get interesting, offscreen at least, in the coming months, as Sorkin, who writes all the episodes, leaves the set and goes on location for the new Tom Hanks movie he wrote. He's said that he intends to keep an eye on things by remote. But who'll keep an eye on him?

If they can give two full seasons to crap like Joey, then this show deserves 10.

Well, I'm fairly sure I'm not upscale and I'm definitely not rich, but I really enjoy this show. Of course it isnt as good as SportsNight or The West Wing, but what is? It's still pretty damn good, and I'd do just about anything to see Bradley Whitford every week. (And Steven Weber - I've been really enjoying his role so far.)

I was pulling for this show. I really like it. I am biased though cause I would watch Matthew Perry recite the alphabet.

:) I really like this show. Been with it since the first episode. Don't understand why so much criticism. I really like the fast paced dialogue. Reminds me of ER. Can't always keep up with it, but I've watched each and every episode of it, too. Of course, I'd watch anything that had Matthew Perry in it. He could read the phone book and I'd be memerized.

I too really like this show. And I too watch it for Matthew Perry. I say that any show that gives me him in HD for an hour every week should stay on the air for a very long time.
