NSFTV? CBS hit for Survivor's nude wrestler

ashleymassaro.jpg

It took only a few hours, but already there's growing unease over CBS' promotion of a Playboy model and WWE bimbette as a contestant on Survivor: China, with more than few insiders worrying that Ashley Massaro's participation drags the prestigious franchise down to the level of The Surreal Life (see Joanie "Chyna" Laurer).

It's one thing to plug professional poker, as they will with contestant Jean-Robert Bellande. CBS is really dealing with the devil on this one, heaping praise on the controversial World Wrestling Entertainment (the week after the untimely death of another of its former wrestlers) and getting in bed with Playboy--both signs that a flailing Mark Burnett and CBS are scrambling to keep the old franchise fresh and attract younger viewers in its 15th season.

Check out Ashley's video interview on the Survivor site, in which the naked lady wrestler takes time to plug Vince McMahon's WWE, saying, "I couldn't be happier. I have the best job in the world and I work for the greatest company ever, I mean they just take such good care of us and I just really love my job."

Could the handjob be a result of the tough negotiations to get her on the Survivor? "For WWE to let me go for such a long time there was definitely a little arm wrench in there..."

In fact, the entire interview seems to be scripted. Do ordinary folks refer to posing on the cover of Playboy (which Ashley does, about a minute into the tape) as "gracing" the cover? "One of the other things that I'm pretty proud of and that I never thought would possibly happen, did--was gracing the cover of the Playboy magazine. April issue. It was unbelievable, Seeing yourself on the cover of Playboy is sort of just like, surreal, you know, it, it's you know, it's just really awesome."

Anyway, stay tuned... and... by popular demand...NSFW photos of Ashley...

Nude gal faces Jesus gal on Survivor: China

ashleymassaro.jpg leslienease.jpg

Hey! Never mind the genocide and human rights issues connected to Survivor: China, which premieres next month. This season, the producers are adding a morality battle royale by matching up a full-frontal nude WWE wrestling diva with a Christian radio hostess and former beauty queen.

Ashley Massaro is a SmackDown! sweetie who won the 2005 RAW Diva Search 2005 and was on the cover of the April issue of Playboy.

Leslie Nease is a Christian radio deejay who says she was raped as a child, spent her teenage years as a drunk and kept drinking through four pregnancies before getting in shape, winning the 2001 Miss North Carolina pageant, auditioning for Kelly Ripa's gig on Live with Regis & Kelly when Kelly was on maternity leave and pouring all the booze down the drain-- giving her life over to Jesus along the way.

Actually, they should have a lot in common.

Another notable contestant is...

CBS introduces the Survivor: China contestants

survivorchina.jpg

CBS this morning introduced the 16 castaways who will compete in Survivor: China one month from today.

The sixteen Americans will start out in downtown Shanghaim, then move to HuangPu Mountain's Mi Tuo Temple for a Buddhist ceremony where they will be instructed to leave all of their worldly possessions behind. The castaways will then be marooned with the clothes on their back at two separate islands on Zhelin Lake (translation: the Land of 1,000 Lakes) located in the Jiangxi Province. They'll will split into two tribes, Fei Long (translation: Flying Dragon) and Zhan Hu (translation: Fighting Tiger), and will each be given a copy of Sun Tzu's The Art of War for tribe motivation and assistance throughout the game.

Survivor: Human Rights Scandal will once again include Hidden Immunity Idols, which can save someone from elimination at a future tribal Council, or, if the contestant chooses, be used to free a political prisoner. Not.

The contestants, their hometowns and real-life occupations... after the jump...

Yau-Man blabs about Survivor convention

yau-man.jpg

Survivor fans unite! At the Survivor convention that CBS is planning for diehard fans of the granddaddy of reality shows.

Yau-Man Chan, the granddaddy of Survivor players in season 14, spilled the beans to his local newspaper at a food bank fundraiser in Vallejo, California when he said the Survivor convention is among the other appearances he's scheduled since his time on Survivor: Fiji changed him from "computer geek" to minor celebrity (even fourth-place finishers become celebs these days).

And he had other revelations about his five weeks of competition on the small Fiji island of Macuata, Vanua Levu...

Mark Burnett is fighting for another reality hit

fight.jpgBurnett.jpg

With flopperoos Pirate Master and On The Lot clinging to life on CBS and Fox and the combination of the two summer stinkers leading some to declare the end of reality TV's first Golden Era, producer Mark Burnett is heading back to his roots. The former British commando is teaming with a "mixed martial arts" company to develop a primetime reality series involving the combat sport. Will he find another Survivor? We're guessing he forgot about The Contender...
