Yau-Man blabs about Survivor convention

Survivor fans unite! At the Survivor convention that CBS is planning for diehard fans of the granddaddy of reality shows.

Yau-Man Chan, the granddaddy of Survivor players in season 14, spilled the beans to his local newspaper at a food bank fundraiser in Vallejo, California when he said the Survivor convention is among the other appearances he's scheduled since his time on Survivor: Fiji changed him from "computer geek" to minor celebrity (even fourth-place finishers become celebs these days).

And he had other revelations about his five weeks of competition on the small Fiji island of Macuata, Vanua Levu...

Yau-Man said show producers recruited him in an effort to have more Asian and other minority contestants. He said one guiding principle was "not to do anything to embarrass my daughters," such as take off all his clothes or jeopardize his integrity (he has two teenage girls).

He also revealed that as fourth place player he received $60,000.

Is Yau-Man's information right? This weekend's Reality TV convention in Nashville is highlighting only Survivor vets Rupert Boneham, Jonny Fairplay, Billy Garcia, Flica Flame, Cecilia Mansilla, Burton Roberts and Cristina Coria, so CBS could be holding on to some others.

From the list of guests I see, it sounds like "Let's make Survivor worse by hosting a shitty convention."
