Another freshman syndicated yakker that-everyone-knew-didn't-stand-a-chance-even-before-it-aired has has bitten the dust. This time it's the Dr. Keith Ablow Show, the one featuring the psychiatrist, mystery writer and talking shaved-head with the unfortunate surname who'd made his TV bones with appearances on Oprah and Nancy Grace.
As Dr. Keith joins fellow newcomers Megan Mullally, Geraldo Rivera and Greg Behrendt in the Loser's Circle, he's probably kicking himself for not putting on a robe and doing a shaven-headed judge show.
Warners apparently knew for some time that it wasn't bringing back the baldie for another season, but only now are they admitting it's a done deal.
Ablow was averaging a 1.0 household rating. Production will continue for the next month or so, so they can finish off the season. But no worries. Next fall, NBC will air another talk show featuring a guy with a shaved head-- Jerry Springer's bodyguard.
