The network is promoting its new Bachelor as An Officer and A Gentleman. And, as you can see from the above video, he also digs spandex and is definitely camera-ready.
Andy Baldwin is a 30-year-old U.S. Navy Lieutenant stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (there's another topical flick). He's also a medical doctor (a surgeon and "undersea medical officer"), All-American swimmer, triathlete and valedictorian for his high school class in Lancaster Pennsylvania.
So with all the degrees and honors, he can't get a date on his own? And he's not smart enough to stay away from a show like this? Just take a gander at that photo from 2004 (which ran in San Diego's Navy Compass newspaper when Lt. Andy placed 353rd out of 1,728 at the Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii). Playing God, being a hero and running races isn't enough for this guy.
He's begging for his close-up.
Should be a fun season. Especially if he gives the final rose to himself.
(And in news from the opposite end of the dating show spectrum, the CW brings back Beauty and the Geek with a two-hour premiere on January 3rd.)

This would be far more interesting if it were an officer LOOKING for a gentleman. Otherwise, I'll just wait for the recaps cheersthanksalot.
