Paris Hilton may be headed to the pokey, but Jason Wahler, the brat from The Hills, is ducking his jail sentence by hiding out in rehab.
The 20 year-old was supposed to surrender at the Los Angeles County jail last week to serve 60 days on an alcohol- and racial-epiphet-related assault charge, but a judge delayed the sentence. A family member tells People that "there was a deal made" with prosecutors: "Jason's in rehab, and he's getting help. He's doing well, and he's going to be a new man."
Uh-huh.
A spokesman for the LA City attorney confirms that J-Wahl's "jail sentence has been suspended for now." But he adds "We'll be informing the court of Wahler's latest arrest in Seattle at his next progress report hearing on June 8th."
Wahler was busted at a Seattle hotel on April 8th for trespassing and assault after he got into a rumble, passed out and resisted cops with racial and homophobic slurs and the invitation to "Come down to L.A. County and get your ass kicked."
So far this year, he's also been arrested in Greenville, N.C. on charges of underage drinking and resisting a cop during a nightclub raid, found guilty of resisting arrest and bribery in New York last September, and probably charged with something else along the way.
