So Long OC!

mischa_cries

Hey, now. Hey, now. Don't cry, it's over. The OC wraps up its roller-coaster existence tonight with a farewell "Hey!" of a series finale. Be sure not to miss it (and the much ballyhooed Mischa-Barton-in-a-locket cameo!). 9 PM tonight on FOX. And to all our friends who've worked on the show, congratulations on your run!

'The O.C.' boss reveals plans for the end

occast.jpg

The O.C.'s creator and executive producer Josh Schwartz says he knew this season would be the show's last, and that the Thursday night timeslot made survival "impossible." He says that despite speculation there could be a fifth season on another network (make that The CW), he'd "love to go creatively on top" with the season finale set for Feburary 22.

And he reveals what's in store for the final eight episodes and big finale (Don't worry-- no real spoilers after the jump):

Like OMG! Did Kristin kill 'The O.C.'?

cavallaribikini.jpg"Out to pasture"... "out of its misery... "killed"...

The fallout from the cancellation of The O.C. gets into full swing in newspapers and on websites around the world this morning, with many wondering how a show could go from pop culture phenomenon to fly-covered roadkill in four short seasons (this final season even shorter than the others).

Most everyone's pointing to the rule-breaking decision to kill off a lead character (the series dying with Mischa), Fox's scheduling blunders, and the idea that the media loved the series more than teenagers did (according to The Washington Post, this latest season only delivered 500,00 of you).

But leave it to our pal Nikki Finke, the toughest, most uncensored pitbull reporter in Hollywood, to point the finger of blame without hesitation:

Kristin Cavallari did it!

Clipgasm: EXCLUSIVE Musicgasm Edition

082906

As I mentioned in my recap, TV GUIDE Emmy party served as a platform for the world debut of the band known as Band from TV. With the vocals of Bob Guiney (The Scorned) and Bonnie Somerville (Kitchen Confidential) leading the band, a strong support comes in the form of James Denton (Desperate Housewives) on strummin guitar, Hugh Laurie (House M.D.) tappin' the keys, and Greg Grunberg (Heroes) poundin' out the drums. USA TODAY gives a little insight to the band's genesis and charity work and even offers a short, clear clip of the band rehearsing (minus the members of the band that actually make it worth watching). Here's the thing about this gimmicky, schticky band....they are really good. While there's no original music, the covers are classic and the band members enthusiasm for the music is contagious.

I recorded a few short clips on my camera for personal historical documentation, but it's something so few people got to see, I have to share a bit. I appologize in advance for the audio and shakyness, but it was late, room was dark, and I was drunk. Think of it as Blaire Witch music.

For information on the band and future live performances you can reference their website here. If the link to buy their CD actually worked, it'd be on my iPod by now.
