Bravo works that formula

sally.jpgcojo.jpgBravo continues to feed that upscale reality competition machine. Last night's finale of Top Design was followed by the premiere of the top hairstylist series Shear Genius, with old Jaclyn Smith and the woman who created Meg Ryan's messy hairdo-- who for the first fifteen minutes of the show we thought was Steven Cojocaru-- in the Todd Oldham-Jonathan Adler roles. (Or is it the Padma Lakshmi-Tom Colicchio roles? Or Heidi Klum-Tim Gunn?)

Bravo's announced that season three of Top Chef will kick off in the summer-- probably after the finale of the haircut show. Sublime hostess Padma (who's allegedly splitting from trophy husband Salman Rushdie) will have to find a Florida pot connection, because the production will be moving from los Angeles to Miami Beach. Queer Eye's Ted Allen will join Tom and Gail Simmons as judge. The show's expected to air in the time Project Runway last year.

So when will we see the Big Kahuna?

Tim Gunn is definitely back on Runway

timbobble.jpgtimgunn.jpgProject Runway is officially back on track with the announcement that Tim Gunn will return for the fourth season.

The word comes from Bravo and The Weinstein Company, which produces the show, complete with a quote from grizzly Harvey Weinstein that sounds more like it came from Top Design's Jonathan Adler:

"We could not be more excited that Tim is back to mentor and inspire this seasons crop of aspiring designers. His passion, creativity and dedication to the contestants and the world of fashion have helped make the show such a commercial and critical success."

And in a quote conjured up for the press release, Tim adds: "I am thrilled to make it official that I will be back in the workroom for season four of Project Runway. We're in the midst of casting the designers now and I can already see that it will be another amazing season."
