TV Patrol: Kath and Kim: Thanksgiving Marathon

Happy Thanksgiving to all the TVGasm fans out there. I'm thankful I got this schedule done before I go eat or you may not have had a guide to what's on TV today, besides football, that is. I just have one thing I'm really thankful for. "Kath & Kim" is still on the air! Let's jump for joy.......

What a turkey.

I really tried to love Rosie O'Donnell's idea of a variety show. I just couldn't. I thought it sucked. I know she loves Broadway, but people like me, don't. Maybe I just expected too much. She kept saying on her blog, that it was going to be like variety shows of our youth. I was hoping for comedy sketches & musical numbers like "Carol Burnett" or "Sonny & Cher's" shows. All I got was a black curtained stage with people being shuffled out hurriedly. Rosie's stand-up, at the start of the show, was anything but funny. She acted like she didn't even think so. It went downhill from there. Her few moments with Clay Gaykin were just uncomfortable. I just wanted to watch something else. Next time, I will. Stick with talk shows Rosie. Your idea of variety was just that, your idea, not for the those who love entertainment. I'm grateful that this was just a special. But knowing NBC & their lack of programming skills (Kath & Kim), she will be back for another try. I hope she can fix it.

Let's be thankful for all we have to watch tonight on TV & be grateful they aren't rerunning Rosie's show.

Tonight on CNN is the "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute" at 9pm. People from all over the USA, sent in names of those they deemed 'heroes', over 4000, to be exact. Ten finalist were chosen for their courage and unselfishness. Each nominee received $25,000 for their cause. The winner, Liz Walker, was awarded $100,000 & title of CNN "Hero of the Year", for her time & dedication in helping survivors of Hurricane Katrina rebuild their homes. Some of the 'all-star' crew, helping to celebrate, are Alicia Keys, John Legend, Cameron Diaz, Forrest Whitaker, Hugh Jackman, Lucy Lui, & Salma Hayek. That's a great way to say 'thank you'.

NBC has the "National Dog Show" on today at noon. John Hurley & David Frei are the hosts once again. We get to see 150 breeds parade around and someone will win "Best in Show". I'm betting on the Doberman this year. I'm thankful for pooper scoopers, which our President-Elect told Barbara Walters he would be making his daughters use on the White House lawn. No servants for them.
