TV Patrol: Thursday's Aren't What They Used to Be.

Survivor's favorite professor, Bob, has another Idol in his pocket. Is it real or is it Memorex? We'll find out tonight. Let's JUMP to it.........

Picture 1-99

I watched "Secret Millionaire", on FOX , last night. It was kinda icky. I'm just not sure how I feel about really rich people trying to be poor for a week. The one rich dude had such an obvious sprayed on tan, it was laughable. It was heartfelt in that the people they gave money to (their own money, by the way) really deserved & needed it. They were very gracious in their acceptance. I just wonder what happened after these fat cats left. The father/son well-to-doers gave a little girl, with cancer & no insurance, $50,000. In today's world, that's just a drop in a bucket when it comes to medical expenses. I'm sure the family gets some sort of social service help. Will that gift of money screw up any federal or state benifits they may be receiving? I'm sure it will. They will have to declare that money on their income tax, putting them in a higher income bracket, thus making them ineligible for certain programs, not to mention, the taxes they will have to pay on that money. A wonderful woman who was feeding homeless families from her own home & giving them shelter, received $50,000 also. Will the health department swoop in & close her down because her kitchen is not 'up to code'? The fact is, rich people helping the poor looks great on TV, but the truth is, things are never what they seem, in the real world. My own experiences make me skeptical. I hope those deserving families are better off for having had this experience. The fat cats, on the other hand, only make me ill, with their patronizing ways for the TV cameras. Their "Look at me & what I did" attitude is not entertaining. (IMO)

I need to get off my soapbox and get to the schedule for tonight. I would, however, appreciate any thought you may have on this show. Let's get to it, shall we.

pixielated:

I watched Grey's Anatomy but I totally regret it. They have a real knack for pairing up the most distasteful couples: Lexie and Sloane, Callie and Sadie, Izzie and a dead man. When am I going to come to my senses and go back to CSI?

I gotta say, that dude didn't "shit" a kid. He carried it using the female organs he still has from when he was a woman. I'm assuming he had a cesarean.

JustJesse:

I was going to say the same thing pixielated. His wife couldn't carry children, and so he did. Saying he "shit" the kid is very tasteless...By the way, he's pregnant again!

chooch850:

If I came off as "tasteless', it was an off-color remark that I should have worded more carefully. I apologize for that. My point was that Barbara Walter's "Fasinating" list is a joke. She has already done an extensive interview with Tom Beastie & his wife, so why do it again. Her pick of Will Smith & Frank Langella was not because they've done anything fasinating in this past year. It's because they have both have a movie coming out on the same day. I used to look forward to her year-end picks, but she's recycling her previous interviews this year.

Cherie:

I guess thats why my sister gets mad when I tell people she's "shitting" another kid. I didn't think of it as tasteless, I just think of it as funny! And the list is always a joke now. It used to be good but Barbara Walters is just stupid now. Tom Cruise? Really? What.Ever.
