TV Patrol: The Friday Night "Crash"!

It's amazing how many 'movie stars' are doing TV this season. Christian Slater, Harvey Keitel, & now Dennis Hopper has joined the steady paycheck crossover. He has a new series premiering tonight on STARZ, of all networks. More about it after the jump....

But does Christian Slater sing to his crotch in his first scene of the series? Didn't think so.

I have to make a retraction. I hate doing it too. Usually when I watch a show, I know after that first episode whether I like it or think it sucks. I gave "Life on Mars" another chance & it wasn't as bad as the premiere show. The concept was much more intriguing this time. It still has some outrageous stereotypes and cliches, but maybe life in the '70's was more like they portray than I realized as a teen. I reserve the right to change my opinion at anytime. It could go back to sucking next week.
A show that really, truly does suck ass (and I gave it a second try too) is Kath & Kim. These two characters are just morons. I found nothing even remotely funny about any of it. The daughter, Kim, couldn't be more awful. I don't think it's the actor's fault entirely. She has a crap script too. And Molly Shannon's chipmunk teeth just annoy the shit out of me. I don't give it till the first of the year.

Ok, I got that off my chest, now let's talk about "Crash". It's been produced by the same people who produced the 2004 movie of the same name (never saw it). Dennis Hopper is a has-been record producer who is outrageous & annoying, all at the same time. He is one of a cast of characters from LA, who are all a little f'cked in the head, including an EMT who's trying to pretend he was never in a bad-ass chinese gang. That's a sure sign that he'll be sucked back into it in the first episode. It airs at 10pm on STARZ. (all these movie channels are getting into TV series. Must be where the money is now.)

"Crusoe" premieres tonight on NBC at 8pm. It looks like "LOST" & "Survivor" had a baby in the year 1700- something. I think this show is for the kids, that's why it's on Friday night. All the adults are out to dinner, right?

ABC:
"Wife Swap" at 8pm. (new) A tightwad swaps with a shopaholic.
"Supernanny" at 9pm. (new)
"20/20" at 10pm. (new) John Stossel does what he does best. He's taking on the political promises of our two presidential candidates. I'll enjoy this show!

CBS:
"Ghost Whisperer" at 8pm. (new)
"The Ex-List" at 9pm. (new) All those perfect people are back.
"NUMB3RS" at 10pm. (new)

NBC:
"Crusoe" at 8pm. (new show & season premiere) See above comments.^^^^^
"Life" at 10pm. (new)

CW:
"Everybody Hates Chris" at 8pm. (new) A "Cosby" tribute.
"The Game" at 8:30pm. (new)
"America's Next Top Model" at 9pm. (REPEAT) A clip-show of the first half of the season.

FOX has a REPEAT of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader" at 8pm.
MTV is airing two new episodes of "Busted" at 10 & 10:30pm.
Discovery has a new episode of "Dog Whisperer" at 8pm.
SciFi's got a new episode of "Stargate Atlantis" at 9pm & their new series "Santuary" at 10pm.
USA has a new episode of "Starter Wife" at 10pm.

TLC is premiering their show "Real Simple, Real Life" at 8pm. They are going to give someone a house make-over AND wardrobe & make-up make-over!!!! It's a cross between "Clean Sweep & "What Not To Wear". Speaking of which:
"What Not To Wear" at 9pm. (new)

That's what's going on tonight. I recommend "20/20" with John Stossel at 10pm.

love
