Why are these guys partying? Check it out after the jump......
CBS's new thirteen-week thriller, Harper's Island on Thursday nights after CSI has made the "Top Twenty" list in it's premiere episode. It came in at #19, with 10 million viewers. The bad news is that it dropped 6 million of it's lead-in viewers from CSI. Still, that's better than most shows premiering this past week. The only one doing better was ABC's Surviving Suburbia at # 14, which also had a strong lead-in show, Dancing With the Stars. It too, lost quite a few viewers. FOX's American Idol still reigns supreme, taking #1 & #2 once again. And NBC.... hmmmmm, I don't see it on the list?
Here are Mr. Nielsen's "Top Twenty" network shows for the week of April 6-12:
1. American Idol (wed. results) FOX 23mil
2. American Idol (tues.) FOX 22.8mil
3. Dancing With the Stars (mon.) ABC 19.9mil
4. NCIS CBS 17.8mil
5. NCAA Basketball Championship CBS 17.7mil
6. The Mentalist CBS 16.9mil
7. CSI CBS 16.6mil
8. Dancing With the Stars (tues. results) ABC 14.6mil
9. Criminal Minds CBS 13.6mil
10. House FOX 13.3 mil
11. 60 Minutes CBS 12.8mil
12. CSI: NY CBS 12.5mil
13. Without a Trace CBS 12.2mil
14. Surviving Suburbia ABC 11.3mil
15. Survivor: Tocantins CBS 11.2mil
16. 24 FOX 11mil
17. The Amazing Race CBS 10.6mil
18. Cold Case CBS 10.6mil
19. Harper's Island CBS 10.2mil
20. Ghost Whisperer CBS 10.1mil
NBC's new series,Southland, was it's #1 show for the week, but came in at # 22 overall, with 9.9mil viewers.
It's other new show, Parks & Recreations with Amy Poehler, came in at #40, with only 6.9mil viewers.
Heroes was right behind it at #48 with 6.1mil watching.
Donald Trump & his Celebrity Apprentice captured 8mil viewers.
NBC's lowest rated prime time show this week was Howie Do It with a pathetic 3.7mil.
It's weird how CBS's lowest rated shows this past week, The New Adventures of Old Christine at 7.1mil & a repeat of The Big Bang Theory with 6.9mil, manages to beat out most of NBC's top shows.
Over at ABC, it's new shows are trying to find some viewers. The premiere of Surviving Suburbia made #14 in the "Top Twenty" list, but it had a great lead-in with Dancing With the Stars. IMO, the show sucked. I don't expect to see it on the list again.
Castle had 9mil returning viewers & the premiere of The Unusuals on Wednesday night following LOST (which had 8.5mil & #31 spot on the list) dropped 2mil viewers with 6.8mil watching.
The premiere of Cupid didn't do as well as ABC was hoping for with all it's big promos. Only 5.7mil watched.
At the bottom was In the Motherhood with only 4.5mil viewers.
The CW's #1 show is, of course, America's Next Top Model with 3.6mil viewers. This is good considering this network shows mostly repeats all week long.
The bad news of the week is FOX's Dollhouse was it's lowest rated show this week with 3.5mil viewers. I'm a fan & these numbers are sure to seal the show's cancellation fate. This makes me very sad.
This is the latest release of the "Top Ten" Syndicated Shows:
1. Wheel of Fortune
2. Jeopardy
3. Oprah
4. Two & a Half Men
5. Judge Judy
6. Entertainment Tonight
7. Family Guy
8. Seinfeld
9. Dr. Phil
10. CSI: NY
On the Cable Channels, it's still the same-old, same-old...... WWE Wrestling is still the #1 show with over 6mil viewers every Monday night. NCIS dominates the list for the week in viewership. The fact that it shows every night is also a big factor.
Here are the numbers for some of the other favorites of cable TV:
Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels Finale VH1 3.2mil
South Park COM 3.1mil
The Hills (season premiere) MTV 2.9mil
Ghost Hunters SciFi 2.6mil
I Love Money 2 VH1 2.5mil
Rescue Me (premiere) FX 2.2mil
Real Housewives of NYC BRAVO 1.7mil
Breaking Bad AMC 1.4mil
There is just too much TV to watch these days. I think I've covered all that is important & that is basically the shows I watch! Till next week....
love
