Jack Bauer Never Goes In alone. . .

24

GripIn an otherwise slow news day, I thought I’d point out a little something from this past Monday nights episode of 24. When Jack Bauer seems to go in alone to follow Gredenko, we see in the doors reflection he is not alone. It appears he has back up in the way of what looks like a PA and clearly a camera operator.

Why is this news? Frankly, it’s not. Nor is it news that in the scene where Gredenko is on the Santa Monica pier and walks by a sign with a phone number (310.260.8744) it isn’t the famously purchased 20th Century Fox Phone lines that they use for Jacks phone or just about any other number on the series since seasno 2, but rather the actual park number for the Santa Monica Pier.

No, I don’t know the park’s phone number by heart, but i am one those losers who feels compelled to dial any number on tv or film that isn’t a 555 number or start with a 1.

For the photos of the 24 PA, cameraman and Phone number at the park, stick around after the jump. But if you do, all you’ll be doing is encouraging me.

And here I was last night watching a “Law & Order” rerun with Dennis Farina, and I fully appreciated the editing that captured the detectives in a reflection (real-time) as they questioned a woman in her home. It was cinema quality.
I love spotting crews’ reflections in shows, but you usually only see it in low-budget shows that can’t do retakes. Like “Good Eats”. (love you AB)
